What are Skin Tags?
A skin tag is a common, harmless soft growth that hangs off the skin and is typically the same colour as the surrounding skin or a little darker. They often appear in areas where skin rubs together, such as the neck, underarms, under the breasts, or in the groin area.
What causes Skin Tags?
Skin tags occur when cells multiply beyond normal levels within delicate skin folds or regions of high friction. They are generally correlated with aging, weight change, and metabolic issues. Skin tags are benign but are an inconvenience and can become irritated if they snag on clothing/jewellery.

Skin Tags can be permanently removed by using a very fine probe and short-wave diathermy (SWD).
A controlled electrical current produces heat which cauterizes the base of the skin tag, effectively sealing blood vessels and destroying the tissue. The heated tissue then detaches from the skin, leaving behind a healed area with minimal bleeding or scarring. The skin tag often falls off during or shortly after the procedure. The heat seals the wound, reducing bleeding and the risk of infection.
A small scab may form at the treatment site, which will heal over a few days to weeks. Multi skin tags can be treated in a single session, with very minimal downtime or discomfort.
