Taking care of your skin after any procedure is crucial to ensure you see the full benefits and keep them looking great for the long haul. This section gives you straightforward aftercare steps specific to every treatment we offer, so you can heal gently and with peace of mind.
Botulinum A Toxin Treatments
- Treatments take 14 days to fully work and last 3–4 months on average.
- You may have undergone a treatment where a small amount of muscle-relaxing protein was injected to improve appearance.
- It usually takes between 3 and 10 days to start working, with full results by day 14.
What’s Normal After a Procedure?
- Injections can cause:
- Small amounts of swelling
- Temporary bumps
- Redness
- Bruising
- Mild to moderate discomfort
- These are normal and part of the healing process.
Post-Treatment Advice
- Remain upright for 2 hours after the procedure.
- When cleansing your face:
- Avoid pressure.
- Use gentle strokes away from the eyes.
- Avoid:
- Facial massages
- Electrical facial stimulation for 2 weeks
- Tight hats or garments on the injected area
- Alcohol
- UV exposure and extreme heat (sunbeds, saunas, steam rooms, hot showers)
- Strenuous exercise
Reduce the Chance of Infection
- Avoid applying makeup for approximately 6 hours unless it is mineral-based.
- Wash your hands immediately after the procedure.
- Do not touch the injected areas for 6 hours.

Seventy Hyal Treatment Aftercare Guidelines
It is important to follow these guidelines to avoid any post-treatment complications:
1. Immediately following treatment, it is possible that small lumps will be seen at the injection sites. This is normal and temporary; they usually disappear after a few hours.
2. There is occasionally some redness or itching at the site of injection. Redness may last for 1–2 days, rarely longer.
3. Swelling and tenderness may be experienced for 2–3 days, and bruising may occur, lasting 1–10 days. All of these responses are normal and should resolve quickly.
4. Do not touch the injected area for a few hours and avoid makeup for 24 hours (mineral makeup can be used after 6 hours if absolutely necessary).
5. If possible, it is recommended to sleep in a supine position (on your back) for the first few nights after treatment.
6. Avoid alcohol or exercise for 24 hours.
7. Avoid sunbathing, sauna, steam room, sunbeds, and extreme cold weather until all swelling has gone.
8. Avoid facials, dermaplaning, peels, laser treatments, and other facial treatments for a minimum of 2 weeks after treatment. Use a good SPF of 30 or higher every day.
9. If you experience any discomfort, use paracetamol. For bruising, use arnica cream/gel.
10. If swelling or pain (beyond normal bruising/swelling) persists, contact your aesthetic practitioner as soon as possible.
11. Symptoms of a severe allergic reaction can include:
- Shortness of breath
- Wheezing
- Coughing
- Difficulty swallowing
- Swelling of the tongue, eyelids, lips
- Hoarseness of the voice
- Stomach pain, nausea, or diarrhoea
If any of these symptoms occur, seek immediate medical help at your nearest A&E or call 999.
Treatment Results:
- You should see instant results which will improve over 4–6 weeks.
- A course of 3–4 treatments is recommended for optimal results.
- Maintenance treatment is suggested 6 months after the final session in the initial course, then twice per year.
Expected side effects:
Immediately after the treatment there may be slight redness, swelling, bruising, tenderness and an itching sensation in the treated area.
These will be temporary and generally disappear within a few days.
If it continues or if you experience other reactions, please contact your practitioner.
For 6 hours:
Until the initial swelling and redness have resolved, do not expose the treated area to intense heat (e.g. Sauna, steam rooms, hot showers and sunbathing) or extreme cold.
Avoid touching the treated area for 6 hours after the treatment. After that the area can be washed with a gentle cleanser.
For 24 hours :
Avoid strenuous exercise and swimming to avoid risks of infection
Avoid alcohol consumption for 24 hours before and after treatment
Apply SPF50 sunscreen
Please ensure you have booked your follow-up treatment for 3 weeks’ time or as advised by your practitioner.
Post Treatment Advice
Use of Recovery Balm for first week. Skin may feel drier or tighter – this is quite normal.
Do not use sunbed, sunbathe, sauna or steam bath for one month. Always use recommended sun protection SPF 50.
Avoid electrolysis, waxing, bleaching (face) for 36 hours
Do not swim in chlorinated water for 14 days
No excessive exercise immediately after
Avoid makeup for 24 hours, mineral is recommended
Take directed advice if undergoing laser or IPL treatment
To ensure the best results from your dermaplaning treatment and keep your skin healthy and glowing, please follow the aftercare advice below:
- Avoid touching your face unnecessarily immediately after treatment to prevent irritation or bacteria transfer.
- Keep your skin clean and hydrated by using a gentle cleanser and a fragrance-free moisturiser.
- Wear SPF 30 or higher daily, even on cloudy days, as your skin will be more sensitive to the sun.
- Avoid makeup for at least 24 hours to allow your skin to breathe and recover.
- Avoid excessive heat and sweating (such as saunas, hot showers, or intense exercise) for 24–48 hours.
- Do not exfoliate or use active skincare ingredients like retinoids, AHAs, or BHAs for 5–7 days post-treatment.
- Use soothing products such as aloe vera or hyaluronic acid to calm and hydrate the skin.
Following these guidelines will help you enjoy the full benefits of dermaplaning with minimal downtime and enhanced results.
After electrolysis, it's crucial to follow aftercare instructions to minimize irritation and promote healing. Common recommendations include applying a soothing cream like Aquaphor or Eucerin, avoiding harsh chemicals, sun exposure, and heat for a week, and refraining from using makeup on the treated area for 12 hours.
Detailed Electrolysis Aftercare Recommendations:
- Soothing:
Apply a healing cream like Aquaphor or Eucerin Original Healing Soothing Repair Cream 2-5 times on the first day after treatment. - Cooling:
A cold compress applied for 10-15 minutes immediately after treatment can help reduce irritation. - Avoid Irritants:
Steer clear of oily, perfumed, or alcohol-based products, as well as waxing, threading, and plucking between treatments according to a clinic in Weybridge, UK. - Sun Protection:
Protect the treated area from sun exposure for at least one week. - Makeup:

Expect some redness, pinkness, swelling, or slight welting. These are normal reactions and should subside.
Electrolysis is a safe, effective, quick and affordable method of treating Blood spots. Also known as Campbell De Morgans or Cherry Angiomas they are bright red spots, on the skin and appear flat raised or dome shaped. They are shiny and red and can vary from the size of a pin head to a 50 pence piece.
Cause
The cause of Campbell de Morgans is unknown but hereditary reasons and sun damage is often cited. They are most common on the trunk of the body and on people over the age of 30.
Treatment
A small probe will touch the surface of the skin, a slight burst of energy is expelled and a small stinging sensation may be experienced. Large Campbell de Morgans can be stubborn and more than one treatment is sometimes required.
Aftercare
Following your treatment you may experience:
- Slight reddening and/or swelling of the skin in the area
- Warmth in the area that has been treated
- The area treated may feel itchy as it heals .
A small Campbell de Morgan may disappear immediately a medium to large size Campbell de Morgan may change colour to a grey/beige then fade away over the next week or so. A larger Campbell de Morgan will, during treatment, form a scab which must be left to naturally fall away. Further treatment may be required for a larger Campbell de Morgan.
Following treatment ensure that you follow the client aftercare advice to avoid unwanted reactions or infections:
Ascab may appear to seal the skin and prevent infection. The scab must not be picked off, as to do so will result in scarring.
Do not touch, scratch or rub the treated area.
Apply aftercare lotion regularly, with clean fresh cotton wool, until the area has completely healed.
Aftercare products recommended use is: Sterex Witch Hazel Gel for 24-48 hours, followed by 28 days of the Sterex Aloe
Vera Gel. Apply twice a day or as often as required and under usual day/night cream. Aprés Clear can be substituted for the
Witch Hazel Gel and offers additional anti bacterial properties.
The treatment area can be washed or cleansed, using a gentle soap free/perfume free cleanser. Gently pat the area dry to avoid dislodging of any scabs.
Noswimming, saunas, steam rooms, facial steaming, facial scrubs and other beauty treatments, until the area has completely
healed.
* Please keep out of U.V. light as much as possible. The area treated and any areas showing a predisposition to Campbell de
Morgans should be protected by a sunscreen at all times particularly in the summer months.
Avoid using any possible skin sensitisers or irritants such as perfumes, fake tan products, or perfumed body lotions.

Description
Milia are small, white spots that usually appear around the eyes, cheeks and the eyelids and are simply a blocked pore, filled with a protein called keratin which hardens. They are unsightly and can become bothersome when multiple. Electrolysis is a safe, effective, quick and affordable method of treating Milia.
Cause
The exact cause of Milia is unknown but they are often related to a high cholesterol diet; dry dehydrated skin; high intake of Vitamin C; using products on the face which are too rich or acidic and there is possibly a heredity link.
Treatment
The tip of a small probe (about the size of an eyelash) is inserted into the centre of the Milia. A small stinging sensation will be felt and popping sensation may be experienced as the Milia is treated.
Aftercare
Following your treatment you may experience:
- A slight reddening and/or swelling of the skin in the area
- Warmth in the area that has been treated
- The appearance of the Milia may change, it may whiten or flatten before it reduces
- The skin may itch as the healing process takes place
- A tiny scab may appear which will eventually fall away naturally
Following treatment ensure that you follow the client aftercare advice to avoid unwanted reactions or infections:
- Do not touch the treated area and do not, under any circumstances remove any scabs that may appear.
- Apply aftercare product regularly, with clean fresh cotton wool, until the area has completely healed.

Cause
There are many possible causes of Telangiectasia, e.g. sun and UV damage, harsh weather exposure, pregnancy, certain medications, eating spicy foods, hormonal influences, hereditary links etc.
Treatment

- Normally after 48 hours pin dot crusts may appear to seal the skin and prevent infection. The crusts must not be picked off, as to do so will result in scarring. The crusts or scabs may be indistinguishable and may be felt rather than seen.
- Do not touch the treated area and do not, under any circumstances remove any crusts that may appear.
- Apply aftercare lotion regularly, with clean fresh cotton wool, until the area has completely healed.
- Aftercare products recommended use is: Sterex Witch Hazel Gel for 24-48 hours, followed by 28 days of the Sterex Aloe Vera Apply twice a day or as often as required under usual day/night cream. Apres Clear can be substituted for the Witch Hazel Gel and offers additional anti bacterial properties.

- Do not fly within the next 48 hours.
- Avoid swimming, saunas, steam rooms, facial steaming, facial scrubs, waxing and other beauty treatments, until the area has completely healed.
- Please keep out of UV light as much as possible. Cover up with hats or parasol. The area treated and any areas showing a predisposition to Telangiectasia should be protected at all times particularly in the summer months.
- Avoid the possible causes of thread veins, for example, wearing tight fitting glasses, squeezing spots, vigorously blowing the nose.
- Avoid using any possible skin sensitisers or irritants such as perfumes, fake tan products or perfumed body lotions.
- Leg treatment heals slower than facial treatment and can take a few months to fade. Sun and UV light should be avoided completely until any redness has faded.
